"DILLO" is a book about a baby
armadillo born in Bailey Tract on Sanibel Island, Florida.
She is one of four identical sisters except she has a birth
defect... a permanent smile. Her sisters are jealous of
all the attention Dillo gets and conspire to get her lost
in Bailey Tract near the pond of the dangerous Snout.
The readers follow Dillo as she tries to
find her way back to her Marmma. Along the way she meets
other animals who help her learn to express her emotions
regardless of the permanent smile. Readers follow the challenges
Dillo faces to get through fear and deception, with courage
and forgiveness.
Randon had the challenge of envisioning
the story in the form of 31 painting depicting the characters
and action as the story unfolds.
